The curtain has just closed on another spectacular Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2025, and what a show it was!

With a record-breaking 1,500+ exhibitors from 72 countries descending upon Cologne's massive Koelnmesse exhibition center, the world's largest gaming event continues to cement its position as the beating heart of global gaming culture. For us Silver Gamers watching from our comfortable gaming chairs (with proper lumbar support, naturally).
The Opening Night showcase was absolutely packed with announcements - from long-awaited new installments of massive franchises like Call of Duty to genuine surprises like Indiana Jones and the Golden Circle making its way to Switch 2.

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War IV

It's a great time for fans of the Warhammer 40K universe: Not only is Henry Cavill busy at work creating a live-action series for Amazon, but there's now also the newest part of the beloved strategy game Dawn of War to look forward to. The fourth installment returns to its mass-battle, base-building roots with four playable factions at launch, including the Adeptus Mechanicus making their Dawn of War debut.
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 4 releases in 2026 on PC via Steam.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

After the explosive Battlefield 6 unveiling and its successful Beta Weekend, it was time for another major shooter franchise to show what it has in store for its fans. Unsurprisingly, the world looks like a bad place in 2035. The campaign looks promising with its near-future setting, and we're excited to see what the new year brings to both the single-player story and multiplayer modes.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 releases on November 14th, 2025 on PlayStation, Xbox & PC.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants

Bethesda's adaptation was one of the positive surprises of early 2025. So we're excited to see the first details of the new story expansion that will explore the secretive Order of the Giants - let's hope for more fist-fights and giant knock-outs! The DLC will be released on September 4th, 2025 on PlayStation, Xbox & PC.
Speaking of surprises: It is also confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will find its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 next year!

Vampires the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2

The original was an absolute classic in the history of story-driven RPG computer games and still produces a smile on people's faces who played it in the early 2000s. The sequel, however, is a different story: almost as long in the making as the infamous Duke Nukem Forever. But nevertheless, there is now a cinematic trailer and an official release date - let's hope for the best after this turbulent development cycle.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be arriving on October 21, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

World of Warcraft: Midnight

After 20 years of service, WoW still has the same major pulling power. The next expansion promises to be one of the most ambitious yet, continuing the Worldsoul Saga that began with The War Within. So we can't wait to see what Blizzard has planned for 2026.

Resident Evil Requiem

Horror fans itching for the next taste of Resident Evil Requiem were treated to an extended look at the highly anticipated title at Gamescom Opening Night Live. The latest footage provides a glimpse of protagonist Grace Ashcroft's dark past.

Set 30 years after the outbreak in Raccoon City, Resident Evil Requiem follows Grace on a new case where the young FBI analyst must return to the scene and face her tragic memories.
This new era of survival horror is creeping onto PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on February 27, 2026.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction

If you're a fan of the iconic action figures (every 80s kid at least had one of them), we've got exciting news for you: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction is a retro-inspired 2D brawler developed by Bitmap Bureau.

Players will take control of Eternia's beloved heroes, including He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and more, to battle Skeletor and Evil-Lyn and save Eternia from plunging into darkness. With pixel-art animation, authentic 80s-style visuals, and designs by some of the franchise's most dedicated devotees, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destructionis the game fans have waited for and will be released in 2026 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
